About the project
We are repairing and strengthening the bridge over the Lyell Highway culvert located between Granton and New Norfolk.
This work will make the bridge stronger so it can continue to support vehicles carrying heavy loads into the future.
Timing
Work starts on Monday,12 May 2025. We expect to finish the work by July 2025.
We are working between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
The speed limit will be reduced to 80 km/hr through the project site. We will put the speed limit up again when we're not working.
Speed reduction
The speed limit will be reduced to 20 km/hr on the actual bridge for one week while we let the epoxy we use on the bridge surface to cure.
By reducing the speed over the bridge, there are less vibrations from vehicles. This will give us the best, most lasting results for the work.
Location
The image and map below show the location of the culvert where we will be working.
