About the project
We will be working on the Lyell Highway, west of the Dee River Bridge in Ouse from Friday, 27 October 2025 to Friday, 29 May 2026, weather permitting.
Work will be carried out from Monday to Friday between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. There may also be occasional work on Saturdays and Sundays if required.
Timing
We will carry out the work in stages to reduce traffic delays at four work sites on the Lyell Highway, west of the Dee River Bridge in Ouse.
- We will be working on Lyell Highway in Ouse, approximately two kilometres east of Catagunya Road from Friday, 31 October 2025 to Monday, 22 December 2025.
- We will be working on Lyell Highway in Ouse, west of Dee River Bridge from Friday, 31 October 2025 to Wednesday, 21 January 2026.
- We will be working on Lyell Highway in Ouse, west of Black Bobs Road from Wednesday, 3 December 2025 to Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
- We will be working on Lyell Highway in Ouse, east of Catagunya Road from Monday, 5 January 2026 to Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
Location
There will be a single lane closure on the Lyell Highway, west of Dee River Bridge (Site pictured below below) in Ouse from Monday, 27 October to Friday, 21 November 2025.

About the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program
These works are being completed as part of FCUP.
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day.
Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
- improve freight productivity
- improve efficiency and network reliability
- improve road safety for all road users
- reduce maintenance costs.
