We will be strengthening and repairing a section of the Lyell Highway, south of Ouse.
About the project
We will be working on a section of the Lyell Highway that requires repair and strengthening works. The site will cover 1.2km of Lyell Highway, South of Ouse.
Timing
We have competed the first part of this project, repairing the surface of the Lyell Highway, south of Ouse, to improve safety and travel time.
We expect to complete this project late November 2025.

About the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program
These works are being completed as part of FCUP.
FCUP supports the productivity of freight vehicles by improving the roads and bridges they travel on day to day. Repairing and strengthening these sections of road will:
- improve freight productivity
- improve efficiency and network reliability
- improve road safety for all road users
- reduce maintenance costs.
