Safety Barrier Upgrades
We are upgrading safety barriers on three regional roads in Southern Tasmania to improve safety for all road users.
About the project
We will be upgrading safety barriers along Gordon River Road, Nubeena Road, and Colebrook Road (which turns into Mud Walls Road).
The barriers will be upgraded or installed at three sites on Gordon River Road, six sites on Nubeena Road, and six sites on Colebrook Road / Mud Walls Road.
These sites were identified based on technical advice and past crash history. The upgrades will ensure the barriers are brought up to the current Australian standard.
Timing
The upgrades are expected to start in early October 2026. There will be changed traffic conditions on site, including a reduced speed limit and partial lane closures while we are working.

This project is funded by the Australian Government for approximately $1.14 million through the Black Spot Program.
