About the project

We are building a new turning facility (P-turn arrangement) on the Tasman Highway in Cambridge, between Pittwater Road and the Midway Point Causeway.

The project will provide a safe alternate option for drivers to turn right from the Tasmania Golf Club, by turning left onto the highway and performing a U turn to head back towards Hobart.

This will remain in place until the Tasman Highway, Hobart Airport to Midway Point Causeway upgrade has been completed.

Timing

We will be working from Sunday, 4 January 2026 to Tuesday, 24 February 2026. This work will be carried out at night between 6:30 pm and 6:30 am to minimise traffic congestion and reduce inconvenience for road users.

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the safety of workers and road users. Lane closures will be in place during working hours, and a reduced speed limit will remain throughout the project, which may affect travel times.

Please keep to speed limits, follow the directions of traffic controls and signs, and allow up to 15 minutes extra travel time during this work.
