Goderich Street

Work on the permanent removal of right hand turns at the Charles Street Bridge is complete.

Following successful trials, analysis of traffic data and positive feedback from road users, we permanently removed the right turns at the Goderich Street and Lindsay Street intersection.

The work was done to reduce traffic congestion along Goderich Street. The ‘green time’ (previously allocated to right turns) allows more traffic to travel along Goderich Street and Charles Street and reduces the queueing that previously blocked northbound traffic on the Charles Street Bridge. We have built permanent median strips, updated traffic signals and installed traffic cameras.
