We have completed safety improvements on the Bass Highway, Wynyard, along a section of road commonly known as the Wynyard bypass.
The improvements include a dedicated right turn lane from the Bass Highway into Oldina Road, a deceleration lane for vehicles turning left into Oldina Road from the highway, and the permanent closure of Wilkinson Street at the Bass Highway end.
The upgrade improves the safety at this section of the highway by taking turning traffic out of the way of through traffic on the highway. It also removes the potential for crashes involving vehicles crossing the highway between Wilkinson Street and Oldina Road.
