We have replaced the Apsley River Bridge (also known as the Lilla Villa Bridge) on the Tasman Highway with a new bridge in June 2022.
The new 90-metre concrete bridge, about five kilometres south of Bicheno, will accommodate anticipated future increases in heavy vehicles, and provide greater safety and convenience for tourists and cyclists travelling Tasmania’s iconic east coast.
We have also realigned about 1.4 kilometres of road to provide safer entry and exit to the bridge.
