We have finished upgrading the East Derwent Highway from Golf Links Road to Sugarloaf Road in November 2022.
The highway is now wider, with traffic now travelling on four lanes - two lanes in each direction, separated by a new concrete raised central median and safety barrier to reduce the risk of crashes.
We have also installed new traffic lights at the upgraded intersection at Clinton Road and Geilston Bay Road, built safer accesses off the highway to Araluen Street, Lindisfarne North Primary School and Geilston Bay Recreation Area, and added an off-road shared path and on-road cycling lanes.
