Styx River Bridge Replacements and Derwent River Bridge Upgrade
We are replacing two bridges crossing the Styx River and strengthening the bridge crossing the River Derwent on Gordon River Road.
About the project
We have replaced two bridges crossing the Styx River on Gordon River Road in Glenora and Bushy Park and strengthened the bridge crossing the River Derwent on Gordon River Road.
By replacing these bridges, we are ensuring both Styx River Bridges are suitable for operation for the next 100 years.
Other project benefits include:
- allowing for greater freight productivity and access
- improving network reliability
- providing a separated pedestrian path over the Styx River Bridge at Glenora
- providing an improved road width on both bridges on the Styx River for heavy vehicles and cyclists
- improving road safety for all road users.
