About the project
We are upgrading the Bass Highway between Mella Road and Fagans Road as part of our Bass Highway Wynyard to Marrawah upgrade program.
This project includes road shoulder widening, road surface repairs and junction improvements.
Timing
Construction is expected to start early 2027.

This map below shows where we will be working along the Bass Highway between Mella Road and Fagans Road.
Upcoming work
We will be carrying out investigations between Mella Road and Fagans Road from Monday, 24 August 2026 to Friday, 4 September 2026.
There will be a reduced speed limit with a lane closure while we work.
