About the project
We are upgrading the junctions of the Bass Highway with Preolenna Road and Ewingtons Road in Flowerdale.
This upgrade will include installation of dedicated turning lanes for vehicles entering Preolenna Road and Ewingtons Road from the Bass Highway.
The upgrade will also improve the alignment of the Preolenna Road junction with the Bass Highway.
This project forms part of a larger project to upgrade multiple junctions along the Bass Highway from Wynyard to Marrawah, to make the road safer and more efficient.

Timing
Work is expected to start late May 2026, and we expect to complete work by January 2027.
A reduced speed limit will be in place while we work. There will be a single lane closure while we work, between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Please allow for up to eight minutes extra travel time.
Remember to follow the posted speed limits and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
The project is part of a package of works that was tendered in late 2025.
