References to “State Growth” and “us” include as required other Tasmanian government agencies and non-government providers who are contracted to provide services to support the Common Ticketing System.

What information is being collected

If you use a contactless credit or debit card, or a linked device such as a smart phone or watch to pay for your journey, the following information will be collected:

  • credit/debit card numbers;
  • travel history associated with that card; and
  • financial transactions associated with your travel using that card.

Personal information is collected when you call the Common Ticketing System Call Centre to make an enquiry, or request a refund or fare adjustment, invoice, or travel history record. This personal information is collected for the purpose of assisting in resolving your enquiry.

Where possible, we will enable you to make requests anonymously. However, if you choose not to share certain details, we may not be able to offer you specific services or assistance that requires the collection, use or disclosure of personal information.

Use and disclosure of personal information

The purposes for which we collect your information include:

  • calculating the fare that you will be charged for travel;
  • contacting you via email in relation to the assessment or processing of fare adjustment and refund requests; and
  • providing an invoice or record of travel history associated with a payment method.

State Growth engages non-government providers to perform some of the functions and activities associated with the Common Ticketing System, and shares information with non-government providers for the purposes of the Common Ticketing System. Where these arrangements require access to, or collection of, personal information on behalf of State Growth, they must manage your personal information in accordance with the PIP Act.

State Growth will not disclose your personal information to another person or third party except in accordance with the PIP Act.

Access, amendment, correction and deletion

You have a right to request access to your personal information held by us and may request to update and amend certain personal information. Storage and security

State Growth has implemented technology and security policies, rules and measures to protect the personal information that we have under our control from unauthorised access, improper use, unsanctioned alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction and accidental loss.

Amendments to this statement

State Growth may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. Any changes will be published on the Common Ticketing System website.
