Kingborough park and ride

We have built park and ride facilities in Kingborough, as part of the Hobart City Deal, to improve travel times and experiences for commuters in Kingborough and beyond.

The Kingborough park and ride facilities are part of a broader package of works to develop better connections and ease congestion for commuters travelling from Hobart’s greater suburbs into the CBD.

The park and ride facilities give people greater choice about how they travel into Hobart’s CBD.  The park and ride facilities have been designed to be safe and inviting spaces, with better parking facilities and passenger transport services.

The Firthside park and ride has improved the existing roadside bus stops and informal carpark located near the intersection of Browns Road and Groningen Road.

The Huntingfield park and ride is located adjacent to Huntingfield Avenue south of the Algona Road roundabout and provides parking for 174 vehicles, including motorcycles and accessible bays. It also offers undercover seating, a modern amenities block with baby change facilities, bicycle storage and a quick drop-off lane. This location provides convenient access for both bus services and commuters and has the capacity for high-quality bus stop facilities and extensive parking.
