The Australian Government Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV), an online publicly searchable database of vehicles that have met the requirements of the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 and been approved for provision to the Australian market.

The Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV) is searchable using the vehicle's permanently marked Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is a 17-character decodable unique identifier allocated to a vehicle and is permanently recorded on it.

From 1 July 2023 to be eligible for registration, a vehicle is required to be entered on the RAV unless evidence of the vehicle's VIN, or in the case pre 1989 vehicles, the chassis number was previously registered in Australia.
