Taxis

The 'Taxi and Luxury Hire Car Industries Act 2008', the 'Taxi Industry Regulations 2008' and the 'Luxury Hire Car Industry Regulations 2008' took effect on 24 September 2008.

Operators, drivers and licence owners are encouraged to read the relevant legislation to ensure that they are aware of all of their responsibilities under the legislation.

The Act and Regulations were developed after a comprehensive review of the previous legislation undertaken over the course of 2006 and 2007. Click here for information on the review.
