To get your licence as a non-novice motorcycle learner, you’ll need to:

  • be at least 16 years and 6 months,
  • learn the Tasmanian Road Rules and pass the Motorcycle Road Rules test at Service Tasmania,
  • undertake day 2 of the Pre-Learner Motorcycle course
  • wait at least 28 days after your pre-learner course, attend a check ride with Stay Upright Training
  • wait at least 28 days after your Check ride, undertake the Pre-Provisional Test with Stay Upright Training Service Tasmania, where you’ll receive temporary Provisional licence (after paying a licence fee).

You can then take your Certificate of Competence (if applicable) and evidence of identity to Service Tasmania, where you’ll receive temporary licence, until your photo licence is posted to you (after paying a licence fee).
