Report an unroadworthy vehicle

To report an unsafe or unroadworthy vehicle, you may submit a notification online, by email or mail.

  • Complete the Defective Vehicle Notification (MR79) (PDF 71.8 KB) form and submit to Vehicle.Callins@stategrowth.tas.gov.au.
• Mail
  • Complete the Defective Vehicle Notification (MR79) (PDF 71.8 KB) form and mail to Registrar of Motor Vehicles GPO Box 1002, Hobart TAS 7001.

Your report will be treated with confidentiality.

The report will be investigated and the vehicle may need to undergo an inspection at an Approved Inspection Station.

Please note: You will not be informed of the outcome of any investigation.
