Definitions

  • Light vehicle: This means a light vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) less than 4.5 tonnes.
  • Heavy vehicle: This means a heavy vehicle with a GVM greater than 4.5 tonnes.
  • New vehicle: This means a locally made vehicle, or a new imported vehicle, that has not yet been used in Australia.
  • Passenger transport service vehicle: This means a person that operates a manned passenger service on a public street for the purpose of carrying passengers.
  • Small passenger vehicle: This means a motor vehicle with fewer than 10 seats.
  • Large passenger vehicle: This means a motor vehicle with 10 or more seats.
