Bridge strengthening
We are repairing and strengthening bridges around the state as part of our Freight Capacity Upgrade Program.
We are planning to repair and strengthen a number of bridges across Tasmania as part of the Freight Capacity Upgrade Program.
Those currently in the design phase are:
- Wivenhoe Bridge (Wivenhoe)
- Charles St Bridge (Launceston)
- Don Bridge (Devonport)
- Pardoe Bridge (Devonport)
- Norfolk Bridge (Taranna)
- Allans Bridge (Taranna)
A bridge strengthening contract will soon be awarded for works on the following bridges:
- Mole Creek Bridge
- Argent River
- Wellards Creek Bridge
- Leslie Creek Bridge
- Allans River Bridge (Taranna)
- Arthur River Bridge
Bridges to be replaced and currently under design:
- Coal Creek Bridge (Acacia Hills)
- Sassafras Creek Bridge
Strengthening has been completed on Pipers River Bridge.
